An unforgettable way to experience Tasmania Our day with Tasmanian Private Tours was absolutely incredible and easily one of the best parts of our visit to Tasmania. We travelled with two young children, and John made the experience comfortable, relaxed, and enjoyable for the entire family. Everything was thoughtfully planned, and we were taken to spectacular places that we never would have found or experienced by ourselves. John’s knowledge of Tasmania, attention to detail, and flexibility made the tour feel personal rather than rushed or overly structured. He was wonderful with our children and made sure everyone was comfortable throughout the day. John is also an exceptionally safe and skilled driver. We could simply relax, enjoy the scenery, and take in everything Tasmania has to offer while he handled all the planning, driving, parking, and timing. Tasmania is an amazing place, but experiencing it with Tasmanian Private Tours made it even more special. Anyone visiting Tasmania should book a tour with this company. The service, local knowledge, and overall experience were outstanding. We would absolutely use Tasmanian Private Tours again and highly recommend them to families, couples, and anyone wanting to see the very best of Tasmania.

Great day from beginning to end. We recently had two full days in Hobart and decided to book Tasmanian Private Tours for a day exploring the Derwent Valley. John was prompt in replying to our initial request and very accommodating with changes we proposed to the itinerary. We had fabulous experiences at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, the historic Salmon Ponds near New Norfolk and Russell Falls before returning to Hobart. The whole day was timed beautifully to give us plenty of time at each location and we enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Salmon Ponds. We felt we were in careful and experiences hands all day. If you have a day or two in and around Hobart do not hesitate to ask for John's expertise. Coincidentally, our day with John was the only dry time we experienced in Hobart!!!

Exceptional private tour We did two days of tours with John. The Port Arthur and curated Coal Valley Wine tour. Both days had fantastic itineraries which were at a good pace for our family. John’s knowledge of Hobart and the surrounds made for great conversation on the very comfortable drive. This was well priced for a truly private tour. You could really tell John loves what he does and Tasmania. Thank you for showing us around and we look forward to hopefully returning and doing more exploring.

2 day custom tour in Hobart for 5 adults - highly recommended! My family and I booked a 2 day private tour with John on our short trip to Hobart and boy were we glad we did! John was fantastic with his communication in the lead up to the tour, and was able to tailor the tours to our preferences. The tours over both days went very smoothly - we saw Bruny Island, Port Arthur, the Tasman Peninsula, and Mt Wellington. We were 5 adults in his 7 seater Mercedes… a very safe and comfortable ride. John made the trip stress-free for us… making it the perfect holiday. Would recommend this company for anyone looking to explore Tassie!

Wonderful Bruny Island Day with Tasmania Private Tours We had a fantastic day exploring Bruny Island with Tasmanian Private Tours, and the experience exceeded our expectations from start to finish. Our guide, John, picked us up in Hobart right on time and drove us to Kettering for the ferry across the beautiful D’Entrecasteaux Channel — a relaxing and scenic start to the day. From there, the itinerary was perfectly paced and full of memorable stops. We loved visiting Get Shucked, where we enjoyed incredibly fresh oysters harvested that very morning — easily one of the highlights of the trip. We also stopped at Bruny Island Cheese Co. for a delicious ploughman’s lunch with wonderful local cheeses and fresh bread. Another standout moment was climbing the steps at The Neck Lookout, where the views of North and South Bruny Island and the ocean on both sides were absolutely spectacular. Later we enjoyed lunch and sparkling rosé at Bruny Island Premium Wines, which was the perfect relaxing way to round out the day. What really made the tour special was John. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and shared personal stories about growing up in Sandy Bay and life in Tasmania today, which added a wonderful local perspective. This was a beautifully organized, relaxed, and memorable way to experience Bruny Island. Highly recommend Tasmanian Private Tours to anyone visiting Hobart.

Top notch care and attention We booked Tasmanian Private tours twice. Our first tour took us to Port Arthur (with sight seeing along the way) and Bolney Wines. Our second tour took us to Derwent Valley and Coal River wineries. Our guide, John, had us booked for a different wine tour, but after our exchange of conversations he did an about face and rebooked us. So glad he did! His attentiveness to our enjoyment of wines was well played. Every winery is well curated and thoughtfully crafted. We especially enjoyed Nocton with a cheese platter to accompany the tasting. We enjoyed all the wines so much we needed a quick nap before heading out for dinner later. Huge thank you to John for making our time in Hobart so memorable and taking the stress out of driving on “the wrong side” especially after enjoying the wineries in the area. Cheers, Patti & Ken Alberta Canada

Hobart area tours at their best I just spent two fantastic days in Hobart in the company of and being guided by John Burrell. This is top notch service, from the vehicle he drove to the information he provided, not the mention his friendliness and attention to detail. If you are looking for a first class experience in the Hobart area, do not look any further. These people are who you need.
